Aida at the end of year 10 !!!!
Now we’ve come to the end of the first year of the course for the pilot group (that’s you year 10 RG!!). This is your chance to say what is good, average or needs to be better in the course - are there parts of the course that you really enjoyed? Are there some parts you’d rather miss out? As all of year 9 and 10 are going to do this course next year what would you suggest to them to help them do better?
Your comments can really help us to make the course better - as well as affecting the way you are taught next year, so please be as detailed as you can.

Overall i really enjoy this course it involves in doing lts of fun things, i enjoy the most making power point presentations as it gives me a chance to show off my ideas and what i can do. I would miss nothing out mr griffith is a brilliant teacher and makes things easy and tries to make them fun some things we do are a bit boring but the activity itself can give you the oppertunityto give the task 100%. Some of the things we do i have never done before but when i know how to do it, it is easy. To make everything better within the course, i suggest write notes and pay attention carefully because if you don’t listen or read things properly then you will get it wrong or you won’t understand. Also get the task done and don”t mess around i found that out as i was doing a project and at the deadline it wasn’t finished but i still had to give it in which meant that i got a lower grade because not eveything was completed.

The causework is all given when we are having tests and GCSE’s this makes it difficult for us to revise for the tests.

To make this course better, more time is desparatly needed, we normally get about 10 minutes to do a 20 minute task! This was true in the 4 week project that most people were unsuccesfull in finishing to their standard.More rewards are needed for praise of good work! When you do bad thing, you will get detention, but good things get nothing! maby a ” good work ” but nothing really worth it….i beleive a reward system that works on the basis of sweets and chocolate would encourage students to work harderi know i would! =) Overall the course is good, i prefer it to normal I.C.T lessons and also there are no exams ;p!! yay.

I thaught most of this course was good especially because we don’t have to do an exam at the end, which i think is good because there is less pressure so you can get a better mark. I also think that there should be more oppertunities to do activites out of school and class, and practise more on questionnaires and using diffrent digital cameras and other digital accesories, so that you can learn to use them better. Also i would like to learn to make a website properly, as i find it very difficult. The dida active book was very useful and had a lot of information that we needed, and activities that help us to learn all the diffrent skills that will help us in the diffrent areas of the coursework.

there shud b more fun suf like getin out of the class and doin stuff eg pictures fliming stuff like dat… i liked making my website in my project… and also the making the leaflet in my project was ok. otherwise there is nothing i would like to change about this course..,,:~””~:,,..

i thought that the this course was good and interseting, because i’ve learned alot of new skills and becasue we only do coursework, no exams, which is better because you don’t have to revise before the exam so you want forget what you have learned and what you need for your exam. I found the active book useful because it had lots different tips to help me improve my work, and it explains the work clearly and in a way where i can understand it which helped me do my coursework. Because all of our work is on the computer, and not on paper than its easier because the picese of work won’t get lost. In the furture i would like to do more filming and more interactive work. To make this course better, i think we need a bit more time to complete various tasks.

I think to improve this course we should be able to leave the classroom because we do all work in the classroom and it would be more exciting if we had the chance to go around the school or maybe go outside school for research. I quite like doing no exams and just coursework but then if we dont finish it in time then we lose marks but in the exam we have are all going to be there at the same time and wont lose time from being ill. i allsow haf truble spellin diferent wurds

Overall i found this Dida course OK. There were some parts I found good where I could show off my skills and then there were parts of the course which I found boring, hard and would’ve missed such as importing blocks and files of data on Microsoft Excel which I definately found veryt hard and challenging and in the end didn’t really understand. No matter how I feel about the course especially in a negative sense, I have definately learnt something about Dida, computers and storing information and data FOR DEFINATE!! Overall the course has helped me, Mr Griffiths is a very good teacher and has helped me well. I have enjoyed the course overall.

i have realy ejoyed it so fare i think some of the things could of be more fun. And if you do it next year make sure every thing is on time. I thort making web sites in the corses work was realy good. one thing we could of done with out would be sir sense of humour.

the green background goes really well with the white writing background. if i had this website i would change the background colour to royal blue to go with the school colour. the page needs to have more info about diferent catergries. the sixth form and the school logo at the top of the page goes well.
if you end up doing the dida course make sure you give your self plenty of time to do things eg. course work as i found that i never found that i left my self plenty of time and ended up with a lower grade than i should of expected. the course is really good.
the best things i found interesting was making the website and the leaflet but you need to have is longer for the actuall course work because thats where i failed 8 hours isnt enough to make a 4+page website and leaflet. and planning and every thing else. the other bits that i enjoyed was the treats we got.
the bits i struggled on was the homework and doing some of the class work as some of the text book didnt explain enough so i couldnt do some of the homework that was needed and i left it to late to ask for help.
other wise every thing went well especially the sweets we get for treats because RG is a kind teacher

Their is too much homework and causework and it is all given to us when we are trying to revise for tests. This makes it hard for us to do the revising and give in good quality causework. Why dont they come up with a system were all the causework and GCSE’s are seperated out and dont overlap. Allowing us to produce good quality homework and get high marks in are GCSE’s.

wellllll i have a few things to say the best thing about this course has been my teacher mr griffiths! he is strict but fair i will never not do my home work agen;) but about the course i have not enjoyed it i dont think dida is for mei still dont understand how to make a website how to use excell this may sound silly but its true me and computers do not get on well.lol the good thing is no exam but i think would preffer that instead of just all coursework coursework takes longer and i think is more stress. the dida booklet is very usefull it explain well but i dont understan how dida is going to benefit me in life, the only thing i liked doing was posters and leaflets because i actually knew how to do that. and i dont have a good concentration span so when a teacher is speaking for nearly half of the lesson i just daze off and think about different things in my own lifE!but i liek it when a techer speaks theres less work to do!;) but overall dida is a good course for others just not suited for me! bye lurveee you! xxxxmwa:.)

I feel that there is no point in homework as all school work should be done in school if i wanted to do home work i would have been home tought.
all it does it make us worrie about what the teacher will think when we left it at home.

There is no way that i could complete a 4 page quality website and a leaflet
in 4 weeks especially when for one of those weeks we were in an exam. I think the dschool should have been more organised about it, oherwise a good course

Totally out of context, but- i’m a work experience kid- get me out of here…quick. Two more weeks- I’m telling you I won’t survive,take me back to BCS lessons! I’ve decided I’m not a manual worker. Noooooo.
Well, best get back to it-it’s not that bad once you get into it.
Have a great summer everybody, missing you all already :’( (I’m sure you’re missing me so much Mrs M-it must be unbearable- thinking of you!)
Hope all the year 10s are having a better work exp. than me.
